Getting a great deal on airfare to the beautiful state of Hawaii can be very difficult. Right now Virgin America is having a Hawaii airfare sale. Let’s run down the deale and provide some alternatives.
Virgin America Hawaii Airfare Sale
Virgin America is a new way to get to Honolulu or Maui from San Francisco. Skytrax rates Virgin America a 4 star airline and the Wall Street Journal’s Middle Seat column rated Virgin America #2 in its 2014 airline operations review (with the fewest canceled flights, fewest mishandled bags and fewest people bumped). Virgin America consistently gets rave reviews from its customers on all fronts. Let’s hope its stays that way despite its pending acquisition by Alaska Airlines.
Virgin America Hawaii Airfare Sale — San Francisco from $194 Each Way, San Francisco to Honolulu $189 Each Way
Right now you can fly from San Francisco to Maui from $194 each way (this is an unannounced sale and could end at any time) or San Francisco to Honolulu from $189 each way (Hawaiian Airlines and United also have the same fare). The lowest rates are available Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Virgin America charges $20 for reservations made over the phone, $25 for each piece of checked baggage and a $150 change fee (the fares quoted here are non-refundable or changeable).
Getting a fair shake on airfare to Honolulu (HNL), Maui (OGG), Kauai (LIH) or Kona (KON) from anywhere but the West coast is a difficult task. When the great deals do show up you have to act fast because they sell out in just a few hours. That’s what makes this killer fare so unusual. You have to stop in SFO along your way (a Virgin America hub) but its well worth saving some big bucks while you get to fly one of the best airlines in the USA. So pack up your significant other and the kids (or not) and head to the wonderful Aloha state for a little R&R.
