Never Pay Retail Again—How to Save Big Money Online with the Triple Dip
On a recent trip to New York my daughter and I went shopping at the The Shops at Columbus Circle where a sign claiming “up to 50% off” drew us into to the Bebe store. Of course, Genna spotted a dress that she loved and tried it on. I have to admit she looked absolutely beautiful in that pleated black Bebe dress. Was it on sale for 50% off? No. If you’re a dad you can related to this dilemma. Normally, I would just say no, but it’s the holiday season and all. However, I couldn’t bring myself to shell out the $179 and let Bebe trick me into paying full retail. The problem—she really wanted that dress. So I bet her I could save at least 25% off the dress if we bought it online with my Triple Dip method.
Never Pay Retail Again–The Triple Dip
The Triple Dip can be summarized as follows:
- Use a cash back shopping portal like Topcashback.com
- Grab a coupon code from sites like Coupons.com or Retailmenot.com
- Buy a gift card from sites like Giftcardgranny or Cardpool
- Use all of them together in one transaction
Never Pay Retail Again–The Bebe Triple Dip
First— Buy A Bebe Discounted Gift Card. The first place I love to go to save money on online shopping is GiftCardGranny.com. There are other gift card sites like CardPool, Gyft, Raise and Ebay; however, GiftCardGranny is my favorite because they have a great card selection, they buy/sell gift cards at a fair price and you can sell cards from numerous sellers on the site. So we grabbed a $200 Bebe gift card for $176 (a 12% savings). The Bebe gift card was delivered by Ecode within 5 minutes of making the purchase.
Second—Find a Generous Cash Back Portal. After securing my gift card I checked out Cashbackmonitor.com and Cashbackholic.com to see which shopping portal was offering the best Bebe discount. Turns out Topcashback.com was offering 7% cash back for purchases on Bebe. I like Topcashback because (a) I have never had a problem with them, and (b) they show how exactly how much cash back you earned in the “account overview” section. In order to earn the cash back you just click on the Bebe link on Topcashback.com, make
your purchase and you earn cash back. It’s that simple.
Third—Find a Bebe Coupon Code. The final piece of the puzzle is checking out the Bebe website and coupon code companies like Retailmenot.com and Coupons.com to grab a nice coupon code. Remember, you want the coupon code ONLY. DO NOT CLICK THROUGH ON THESE SITES—SAVE CLICKING THROUGH FOR TOPCASHBACK.COM (or your favorite cash back site). The best coupon code we could find was 10% off through Bebe.com (for signing up for the newsletter). Now we were ready to buy.
$161.10 (a 10% savings) then we used Ecode to check out that saved us another 12% (bringing the price down to $141.77). Remember, for Topcashback 7% rebate purposes out purchase was $161.10. Accordingly, Topcashback is sending us a rebate of $11.28 making the final price of our dress $130.50, a savings of $48.50 off retail or 27.1%. Booyah!
